I want to ask women a question. What do you believe your goal on earth is? Do you even believe you have a goal?
What do you believe it is? Marriage, children, career, responsibility to parents, touching lives?
I came across a post about a woman who earned more money than her husband and it made him insecure.
To make him happy she resigned and took a job with lesser pay. Wonderful isn’t it.
Well, it looks like a script from a Nollywood movie.
As a woman do you believe your parents and family should be beneficiaries of your income especially if they gave their all for you?
Do you believe they are your responsibility and not your husband’s?
Do you believe you are financially responsible for your parents even if they planned for their retirement?
Do you believe it’s a crime for a woman to build a house for her parents, buy them cars, pay for their health care and take them on an all-expense-paid trip from the money she earned not her husband’s?
Do you believe you owe your children a better life than you lived?
If your answer is yes why do you feel it’s okay to never earn an income all your life but be dependent on someone else?
Is marriage the end of your life? After that nothing else follows, your dreams are gone and your goals too?
Do you believe you owe it to yourself to be successful, and your parent’s sacrifices should not go to waste? Your children are counting on you?
If a woman earned more money than you and you knew you were uncomfortable with it why go ahead and marry her?
Only to order her to resign just because it makes you happy when she’s completely dependent on you when you know she’s her family’s breadwinner and you are not willing to provide for them?
Remember the parable of the talents? Remember how the servant who buried his talent was frowned at?
That’s how God frowns at you each time you bury your talents instead of using them. Folding our arms expecting manna to fall from heaven.
Next time you want to sit at home and not do anything.
Remember your parents, your children, your goals, the lives you could change, the lives you could touch, and remember your parents’ investment.
Earning money is not about competition with anyone.
If at all you should compete with someone, it’s yourself.
God put you here for a reason 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭•••
