Marvin and Marvin said you are a whole mood sir, thank you for everything.

Anderson said where is Liam by the way? Adrian said asleep, then he said he is having nightmares by the way.

I walked past where he was and found him screaming don’t shoot me, I’ll give you anything you want.

I walked up to him to tell him he was having a nightmare; you may want to talk to him about it.

Probably he should talk to someone. His father said I will do that but you do need to talk to someone as well.

Mrs. Anderson served the food with Nancy and Stacey. Anderson stood up and said Adrian a word please.

I imagined losing my own son while protecting another person’s son. They capitalized on my love for helping people, my weakness almost cost me my own child.

Adrian went with him to his study and he said sit down please. Adrian sat down and his father said let’s talk, I want you to be honest with me.

Tell me what’s going through your mind. Adrian said how I almost died today. Anderson shut his eyes and said I was careless and neglected you.

Adrian said no dad please don’t say that. Anderson said it’s true, I was so occupied by Liam that I neglected my own son and it almost cost him his life. I’m so sorry son.

Adrian said how were you supposed to know I was going to get shot? You can’t be ubiquitous and be everywhere at the same time.

There is no way you could have known. He said how did you find out anyway? Anderson said Greg told me.

Adrian asked Greg who shot Liam?  His father said yes. Adrian said what is the world turning to?

His father said I’ve no idea, I’m so glad I answered his call when he said he wanted to talk to me.

I never wanted to go because I wondered what he had to say to me after shooting Liam.

I thought he wanted me to get him probation or something because I did that for Liam. I had no idea it was something of this magnitude.

When he told me Liam’s shooting was a distraction to the main event. I had a bad feeling about it.

Then he told me the main target was you and I felt sick to my stomach. Then he told me the shooting was going to happen today and my world crashed.

Adrian said it’s not a weakness Dad, it’s your superpower.

God made you that way, I mean look at me and Stacey, I don’t think you should beat yourself up.

At the end of the day love won, your call saved me, God saved me and that’s all that matters.

But why was I shot at? His father said because of the bill I’m sponsoring in the Senate on corruption and immunity of previous politicians.

Adrian said I almost got killed because of a bill? What’s so special about it? His father said it ruffled a lot of feathers.

Obviously if the bill goes through all readings and is passed. A lot of people will be affected so they decided to stop me in my tracks by killing my son but God said no.

Adrian said I don’t just get it, why don’t they just ensure it doesn’t get past the first reading?

I mean let their money do the talking, pay their fellow counterparts to vote against it? Why go the extra mile?

His father said in this country we love to take the high road, that’s just who we are.

What I need you to do is see a therapist. I don’t want anything to disrupt the usual normal flow of your life

I don’t want your marriage to Stacey disrupted. I promise you that before the marriage holds everything will be sorted out.

I need you to carry on with your plans, I know it’s tough now and you are traumatized but take some time to deal with your feelings.

Talk to me if you need to, I just need you to be okay. Adrian said okay Dad I will do as you say.

His father said I’ll need you to maintain a low profile, preferably stay here.

I’ll be more at peace having you under my roof where I can keep an eye on you and know you are safe. If you want to return to your apartment it’ll have to be under heavy security. Adrian said I’ll rather stay here for now.

His father said I’ll need to have your apartment and that of all your friends swept for bugs. Even your friends are all roped into this conspiracy.

Adrian said even Stacey? His father said yes, even her, in fact she’s more roped in than Ryan and Nancy. I guess that it’s because of her closeness to you.

Adrian said my goodness what have we gotten ourselves into? His father said unfortunately I’ve no idea.

Adrian said are you still going to sponsor that bill? His father said unfortunately yes, Adrian said really? After all that has happened?

His father said it’s complicated. Those behind this plot have no idea we are unto them.

Abandoning the bill will tick them off. Adrian said at least they won’t come after us anymore. His father said that’s not true son, they still will.

They’ll have a problem with everything I do as long as I hold that position and aspire for higher positions. Except you want me to resign. Adrian said I never said that Dad.

His father said son, Greg, is an insider and he advised that we carry on our life as usual so they don’t suspect anything.

Adrian said we are listening to Greg now? His father said he saved your life son. If not for him you may be dead now and I’ll be in mourning.

Honestly, I’ve no interest in that bill anymore but I have to play along. No bill is worth the life of my son or child. Jason and I are working on something.

We have lots of leads to pursue and we’ve kicked the ball rolling already. It’ll yield results in the coming days. No one comes after my family and walks away.

They’ve even compromised your mum’s security detail even though I’ve not told her. I’m just telling you as my son. Adrian said mum too?

His father said yes so you see this is not something I can just walk away from and abandon the bill. I’m not going to tell her that her security detail has been compromised.

I’ll just have them changed and tell her I need to shake things up after the shooting because I don’t trust anyone.

If I tell her she’ll get scared and not leave this house and I’m not ready to deal with that. Adrian said what a day today has shaped up to become.

His father said I’m sorry for putting you in harm’s way. Adrian said you don’t have to apologize, it’s not your fault.

His father said one last thing, you can’t tell any of your friends these details. Adrian said even Ryan? His father said yes.

Adrian said I think he needs to know so he can take steps to protect himself. How do we know his family hasn’t been roped into it as well?

His father said I’ll speak to Greg again soon and ask him if they have. If he says yes then I’ll have to tell them.

I believe sweeping their apartments and finding bugs is enough for them to know they need to protect themselves.

I already filled them in before you came. I told them what I needed to know.

Adrian said so what happens to Stacey? Can she go home?

His father said it depends on what you want, I suggest your friends not go home to their apartments till it’s been swept for bugs.

Adrian said for how long will they stay away? His father said Just today, by tomorrow they can return after their apartment has been certified safe.

Adrian said wow I’m exhausted, his father said you need to get some sleep. Adrian said well I don’t feel sleepy. His father said I’m just concerned.

Adrian stood up and said thank you Dad for the heads up, I need to go now, I need some air I’m choking.

As he walked away Anderson said it’s began already. He picked up his phone and called Dr. Gabriel the doctor who treated Liam and said please I need to talk.

The doctor said okay what’s the matter? Anderson said it’s about Liam, he’s having nightmares but refusing to get help.

The doctor said wow but I told him to reach out. You know what I’ll stop by this evening.

Anderson said I’ll really like that because I’ll need you to attend to my son too. He got shot at today and he is acting aggressive already.

The doctor said wow, what a time to be alive. I’ll stop by the house this evening. Anderson said I’ll really appreciate thank you.

Anderson got dressed and said he was going out. His wife said where to please?

He said I need to go out and see what’s going on outside these walls. His wife said you think that’s a good idea? Anderson said yes, it is, we can’t all be in doors.

Our son was shot at, I need to get to the scene of the shooting and see what’s going on.

I’ll also need to see those in charge of the case and then get an update. I need to meet the shooters since they were taken alive.

You know how these things go; someone will want to eliminate them today just to silence them.

I can’t let that happen; they must have something to say which can help this case.

He said to everyone please avoid your apartments today. By tomorrow it’ll be ready for you to return. You can stay here if you want to.

Ryan, you could go home to your family instead of your apartment. It’ll definitely be safer. Ryan said I’ll prefer that option, Anderson said great.

Anderson headed back to the study and called Jason and said something just came to my mind now.

Jason said what is it? Anderson said the shooters? Where are they?

Jason said in custody. Anderson said really? Are they safe there?

Jason started to laugh and said what are you implying? Anderson said it’s not a laughing matter.

I hope someone somewhere doesn’t plan to silence those shooters tonight in custody?

Jason laughed and said my friend and I are thinking alike. The news has it that they are in custody but they are not.

They’ve been moved to an undisclosed location but it’s top secret. Definitely they’ll want to silence them today, I can’t let that happen.

Anderson said great, I’m heading out. Jason said please be careful and be mindful about what you say to the press, they’ll be all over you.

Just tell them no comment if you are not sure of what to say.

Anderson said I’ll keep that in mind, I’ve asked a team to pick up Greg’s family and take them to a safe place. Once it’s done, I’ll keep you posted.
